Amy’s Brief Bio

Amy Wachspress holds her M.A. in English Language and Literature and has worked as a writer, editor, scenic artist, scenic carpenter, welder, and Head Start administrator. She has a grant writing business and has raised over $100 million in grant funds for worthy projects in more than 25 states. She is the author of the award-winning children’s fantasy adventure The Call to Shakabaz and her novel (for grown-ups) Memories from Cherry Harvest is forthcoming from Counterpoint Press in 2012. She posts weekly to her two blogs:  “The View from Amy’s World” and “Amy’s Recipe Project.” She and her husband Ron Reed raised their three multicultural and multitalented children in rural northern California on forty acres of remote forest on a dirt road leading to a magical cherry orchard. She lives in the shadow of ancient, wise trees.
